How Preventive Examinations Work
A key tool in preventive care is the orthopantomogram (OTG), a panoramic X-ray that captures detailed images of your jaws, teeth, jaw joints, maxillary sinuses, and nasal cavity. At DENT MEDICO, we use the state-of-the-art Gendex 3D panoramic X-ray, which enables our doctors to develop precise treatment plans, select the most effective procedures, and enhance the quality of care for a healthy, beautiful smile. Orthopantomography is a valuable preventive measure; our doctors generally recommend it once every two years.
The preventive examination itself takes place in a comfortable chair, part of a German-made KaVo dental suite, designed for optimal comfort and positioning. During your appointment, the doctor will discuss your current dental health and any concerns, then perform a thorough examination of your teeth and gums. Each of our offices is equipped with an intraoral digital X-ray and oral camera, allowing you to view real-time results of your examination on a monitor.
If any issues, such as tooth decay, are identified, the doctor can address them promptly. We allocate ample time for each treatment, so you always have the option to request a sedative if desired. Our procedures are performed with advanced, ergonomic instruments equipped with lighting for precision and comfort.
During your examination, the dentist will also provide guidance on proper aftercare for your teeth and gums, evaluate your dental hygiene progress, and refer you for additional treatment if necessary. If your dental health requires dentures, braces, or specialized periodontal treatment, your dentist will discuss the next steps. At our clinic, we offer all the dental services you need under one roof.
