Conscious Sedation / General Anesthesia

For clients who feel anxious about dental visits or are undergoing more complex procedures, we offer conscious sedation, and for particularly demanding cases, general anesthesia. Our treatments are supported by experienced anesthesiologists who are present throughout the procedure, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience. With years of clinically tested procedures, we provide dental care free from fear and stress for both children and adults.

Conscious Sedation

Conscious sedation induces a state where fear and pain are not experienced, allowing the client to doze comfortably throughout the procedure with little to no memory of the treatment. This condition is safely managed with well-established medications, guided by a skilled anesthesiologist who remains present during the entire treatment. Your doctor will gladly answer any questions you may have regarding this process.

With conscious sedation, treatments can last up to two hours. Please abstain from eating for six hours and drinking for two hours before your sedation appointment. Arrive at the clinic 30 minutes before the procedure, and after the treatment, you’ll relax in our recovery area for another half hour before going home. We recommend bringing an escort to assist you, as driving post-treatment is not advised. By the following day, any sedation effects will be fully gone.

General anesthesia

For clients with heightened anxiety or those undergoing extensive dental surgery, DENT MEDICO offers treatment under general anesthesia. General anesthesia eliminates all sensation, including pain, allowing patients to comfortably undergo treatment while providing ideal conditions for the dentist. This option is especially suited for complex surgeries like tooth extractions or implant placements, and is available for clients of all ages who are in good health.

During general anesthesia, the client remains unconscious and is intubated to ensure proper breathing. Refrain from eating or drinking for at least six hours prior to the procedure. Arrive 30 minutes early, and after the procedure, rest in our recovery area for an hour before leaving with an escort. By the next day, any lingering effects of anesthesia will have fully worn off.

  • Rest in the clinic for 1–2 hours post-procedure.
  • No food or dairy six hours prior, and no water two hours before.
  • Breastfed children: no breastfeeding four hours prior; water only up to two hours before.
  • Return home with an escort.
  • Full recovery by the next day.
